Free outdoor cinema screenings, live entertainment and food and drink stalls will be coming to Queen's Park in Loughborough this summer.
Summer Cinema, organised by Charnwood Borough Council, takes place on Sunday, 13 July, from 12pm to 8pm and offers a full day of big screen entertainment, live performances, and classic family fun.
Whether you're looking for a relaxed Sunday with friends or a lively day out with the family, Summer Cinema offers something for everyone.
Attendees can look forward to:
- Film screenings: Three film showings will take place throughout the day, suitable for all ages. The public will soon be invited to help choose the films via polls on the Council's Facebook page.
- Live entertainment: Enjoy walkabout performances from magicians, circus acts and other entertainers bringing magic to the park all afternoon.
- Giant games: Take on friends and family with oversized favourites like Jenga and Connect 4.
- Community stalls: Browse unique items and tasty treats from local makers, creatives and community groups.
- Fun rides: Add some extra excitement with rides for kids and grown-ups alike.
- Delicious food and drink: Bring a picnic or enjoy delicious offerings from local food traders.
Councillor Jennifer Tillotson, the Council's lead member for housing, economic development, regeneration and town centres, said: "Summer Cinema is going to be a superb event for Charnwood, and a great example of how we're bringing our town centre and parks to life for residents and visitors.
"The event is a great opportunity a chance to relax, connect with the community, and enjoy some top-quality entertainment – all for free. We look forward to welcoming everyone to Queen's Park this July."
